There’s something special about watching our kids play under the lights, hearing the crack of the bat, and sharing a bag peanuts with friends at the ballpark. That magic doesn’t happen on its own—it’s powered entirely by volunteers like you.
Trenholm Little League has no paid staff. Every detail—from mowing the fields and ordering uniforms to scheduling games and processing umpire payroll—is handled by parents who care deeply about creating the best possible youth sports experience for our kids. It’s a true labor of love, and we’re so grateful for the time and energy this community pours into the league.
One of the easier ways you can volunteer is by working the canteen.
To keep registration fees affordable for all families, we rely on the canteen to open each night. It’s not just about snacks—it’s a vital source of revenue that helps us bridge the gap between the average registration fee per player ($121) and the average cost per player ($144). And let’s be honest: the ballpark wouldn’t be the same without that free popsicle to celebrate victory or comfort defeat.
To keep the canteen running smoothly, we need at least one volunteer from each team on the nights your team is assigned canteen duty privilege. It’s a small commitment that makes a big impact. Plus, it’s a great way to meet other families, support your child’s team, and be part of the Trenholm tradition. Players and siblings are encouraged to work alongside their adults.
We've had a tremendous response to the new canteen offerings, including Chick-fil-A sandwiches and the old Trenholm classic - Crumbl Cookies. In order to continue bringing in great food and vendors, we need reliable canteen volunteers.

Thank you for being part of what makes Trenholm Little League so special. With your help, we’ll keep the spirit of community, fun, and teamwork alive all season long.
Thank you,

Canteen Volunteer FAQ
(aka: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know But Were Afraid to Ask While Holding a Crumbl Cookie)
Do I need prior food service experience?
Only if you count serving Goldfish crackers to a toddler or negotiating snack trades at school lunch. If you can smile, take payment, and avoid shaking the soda cans, you’re qualified.
What exactly will I be doing?
You’ll be the friendly face behind the counter, selling fan favorites like Chick-fil-A, pizza, Crumbl cookies, and cold drinks. You might also restock snacks, wipe down counters, or answer the age-old question: “Do y’all have nachos tonight?”
How long is a shift?
The canteen is open 5-8:30 5 nights a week. You can split nights into 1, 2, or 3 shifts - long enough to feel helpful, short enough to still catch your kid’s game. Think of it as a mini social event with a cash drawer.
Do I get paid?
Nope. But you earn eternal glory in the League’s unofficial Hall of Fame (which currently lives in our hearts and maybe a group text).
Is it gross?
Not at all. We keep things clean and simple. No deep fryers, no mystery meat. Just good snacks and good vibes.
Can I bring a friend? or my kids?
Absolutely. Volunteering is more fun with company. Grab buddy, young or old, and make it a night out—ballpark style.
What happens if no one volunteers?
We cry. If the canteen doesn’t open, we lose a major source of revenue that helps keep registration fees low and the league running in the black. Plus, no snacks = sad fans.
Do I have to wear a hair net?
Hair nets are not required, but I bet you'd look good in one!
How do I sign up?
Your team parent will let you know when your team is assigned. Just raise your hand or sign up this link and we’ll get you set up faster than a pizza delivery on game night.
