The Trenholm Blue All Stars won the  SC Little League Coach Pitch Softball State Championship on Monday night, June 16 with a 16-1 win over the Florence All Stars. 

Trenholm Blue had advanced to the Championship Game by defeating Florence 14-2 in the first round, then the Trenholm Red All Stars 24-4 in the second round and then the Northwood Little League All Stars 16-8.

After losing the first game to Trenholm Blue, Florence made their way to the championship game by winning three games, all by run rule. They defeated Barrier Island 14-4, then defeated Greenville 15-5 . Then earlier Monday evening they defeated Northwood 16-6.

Trenholm Blue only needed to defeat Florence one more time to win the championship. Meanwhile, since Florence had one loss, they had to defeat Trenholm Blue Monday night to force a second championship game Tuesday night.


After holding Florence scoreless in the top of the first inning, Trenholm Blue scored seven runs in the bottom of the first inning. TLL Blue would hold Florence scoreless again in the top of the second inning and would once again score seven runs in the bottom of the second inning. After Florence scored one run in the top of the third inning, Trenholm would score two runs on a walk off two run inside the park home run from their cleanup hitter to win the championship.

TLL Blue went 4-0 in the state tournament and 6-0 overall in District 3 Tournament and State Tournament play. They would outscore their opponents in those six games 103 -17 for an average score of 17-3. Truly dominant.


The Trenholm Red Coach Pitch Softball All Stars also won a game in the state tournament this season, defeating Darlington 19-5. It was the first time in Trenholm Little League history that two Trenholm All Star teams won at least one game in the same tournament. Congrats to the TLL Red All Stars for help making Trenholm Little League history!

TLL Blue joins the 2021 and 2019 TLL Blue Coach Pitch Softball Teams as recent State Champions. The 2015 Trenholm Coach Pitch Lady Warriors All Star team was the first state championship coach pitch softball team in the history of Trenholm Little League.
